You will carry out activities related to the mission system design, requirements analysis & definition, system architectural design, system safety assurance, technical baseline control and quality assurance. The System Engineer is directly accountable to the Technical Director for all technical matters. The position will also report directly to the Program Manager for all related project operations and contractual matters. You will apply the engineering process (requirements definition, top-level functional designs, project management, and lifecycle costs analysis) to organise and coordinate engineering activities. You will manage and lead all Mission System requirements definition and design activities, including quality assurance.Your qualifications include an engineering degree and engineering competencies sufficient to satisfy the requirements for Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) Membership with Engineers Australia. You have a minimum 4 years of Systems Engineering experience with at least 2 years in a Defence System Engineering role, including experience with IV&V and AV&V on defence programs. You have experience working within ASDEFCON based acquisition design contracts. You have a high level of professional knowledge of Systems Engineering principles within a Defence acquisition and support project environment. This includes design experience in the management of a design and CI management system within a quality framework. You have working knowledge in the use of DOORs or equivalent and have previous participation in program reviews – SRR/SDR/PDR/DDR with the customer is essential.
